Philippe Salah

founder & CEO (DM)

Philippe Salah graduated from the prestigious École Polytechnique in Paris, France, with a PhD in Biophysics. He fell in love with orthodontics after partnering with an orthodontist to build Harmony, a company that made custom lingual treatments with a fully digital workflow. By 2014, Philippe had already realized that Artificial Intelligence was the next frontier in medical care, and so he brought together a team of engineers and orthodontists and created Dental Monitoring, the world’s first AI-based system for treatment monitoring, practice management, and patient communication.

Dr. Law played basketball in college before attending the University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine and later the Jacksonville University School of Orthodontics. Always advancing in his field, Dr. Law is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and multiple online professional study groups.  e is also a frequent lecturer on clinical excellence and smile design. Changing lives through orthodontics and smiles are his passion! With a brood of eight kids, Dr. Law loves to stay busy doing “daddy-time” whether it’s hide-and-go-seek, board games, or working on jumpshots in the driveway. Outside of work, Dr. Law and his wife, Jessica, enjoy spending time with their family, playing sports, and dining out for sushi, hamburgers, or BBQ.

John Hedrick

CEO (SD)

John Dolen Hedrick, III, who goes by “J.”, is responsible for running all facets of Smile Doctors, LLC as their CEO. He earned his B.S. in Industrial Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to joining Smile Doctors, J. was CEO of Pei Wei, a fast-casual spin off from P.F. Chang’s with over 200 restaurants.
J. has an impressive executive management track record and over 20 years of experience in a variety of industries, as well as 15+ years managing multi-billion dollar P&Ls. J. has proven success at increasing profitability, sustainably improving operations, both at the retail and support levels, and strategic redesign and deployment. Other noteworthy experience includes holding the position of COO at NPC International, as well as operational leadership positions at Pilot Flying J, 7-Eleven, and RaceTrac Petroleum. He currently resides in the greater Dallas, TX area with his wife, Louise, and their two sons.

Chris Bentson attended Baylor University and received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1984. Over the past 30 years, Chris has been working with orthodontists regarding the business aspects of their practice. In 1988 he joined OPMS, an orthodontic practice management company and was part owner. The company was purchased in 1996 by what is now CareStream Health. Chris has served in various executive management positions and participated in the acquisition and integration of several orthodontic, general dental and oral surgeon practice management companies. For the last sixteen years, Chris is the founding partner of Bentson Copple & Associates, LLC based in Greensboro, North Carolina. The company serves the orthodontic community by performing practice valuations, providing recruiting services and negotiating transactions with both buyers and sellers within the United States. The company enjoys long standing relationships with the AAO, DSO’s with a focus on Orthodontics, vendors and most importantly orthodontic specialists of all ages. Chris currently serves as a committee member for the AAOFTT (American Association Of Orthodontists’ Future Think Tank), an advisory committee member for The AAO Bulletin, and board member of the AAOF (American Association of Orthodontists Foundation). Chris resides in Summerfield, North Carolina with his wife, Dana, and have three adult children.

Ryan Hurley

DDS, MS (SD)

Dr. Ryan Hurley is a third-generation dental practitioner and enjoys using his work as a vehicle to improve and make communities smile.
Dr. Hurley received his undergraduate degree from University of Notre Dame. He then went to the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry where he earned his Bachelor of Science in Dentistry and Doctorate of Dental Surgery. After that, he completed his residency and graduated with a Master of Science degree in Oral Sciences and Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Illinois at Chicago.
In his free time, Dr. Hurley enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Tonya Volk, and their children. He also loves playing golf and is an avid Notre Dame fan.

Dr. Jack Devereux enjoys the challenge of diagnosing new patients and giving patients a beautiful smile while watching their confidence bloom. Dr. Devereux grew up in the New Orleans area and attended Louisiana State University as an undergraduate. Next, he attended the LSU School of Dentistry and then earned his Master of Science degree in Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dr. Devereux works to stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and is a diplomat of the American Board of Orthodontics, as well as an Invisalign Premier Provider. He is also a member of the local, state, and national Dental and Orthodontic Associations and has served as a president of the Louisiana Association of Orthodontists. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family, golf, travel, the beach, cooking, and teaching.

Joshua Adcox

DDS (SD)

Dr. Joshua Adcox has a passion for creating beautiful smiles by using technology and orthodontics to improve them to their most natural beauty and function.
Dr. Adcox earned his undergraduate degree from Brigham Young University before earning his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Southern California. Later, he completed his orthodontic residency and earned his Certificate of Orthodontics from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine.
Dr. Adcox is American Board of Orthodontist certified and is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, among other organizations.
He enjoys visiting beaches with his wife, Jamie, and 5 kids, as well as surfing and watching his kids play sports.  

Jessica serves as the Vice President of Operations Excellence at Smile Doctors. As the VP of Operations Excellence, Jessica provides direction and guidance to all functional leaders on alignment with organizational strategy. Jessica has a proven track record of driving financial performance and organizational growth while improving patient experience and quality. She has a passion for implementation of best practices to maximize efficiencies.
Prior to Smile Doctors, Jessica has been in the orthodontic industry for over 18 years serving in a vary of roles including VP of Doctor Relations and Director of Operations Consultant. Most recently, Jessica served as the Chief Operating Officer at DN Orthodontics, a multi-state orthodontic practice in New Orleans that is now affiliated with Smile Doctors. Jessica has strong experience in supporting orthodontic practices across the United States by providing leadership and guidance to lead successful teams. She can work with teams to identify areas of opportunity and quickly find ways to turn ideas into results.
Jessica is happily married with two wonderful children, Braden and Briley, and resides in the suburbs of New Orleans.

Dr. Fender received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry from the Medical College of Georgia Dental School where he was Valedictorian. He then completed his graduate orthodontic training at Vanderbilt University. Prior to college, he was also Valedictorian his senior year of high school.
Dr. Fender cofounded Smile Doctors in September of 2015 where he serves as the Chief of Clinical Business Development. In addition, he cofounded South Georgia Dental Management in May of 2018. He is currently serving as a board member of South Georgia Dental Management, US Endodontics, Atlantic Vision Partners, and Canadian Orthodontic Partners. Dr Fender is happily married to his wife, Hope, and together they have 3 wonderful boys: Austin, Andrew, and Evan.
